Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association to introduce rowing team for high school boys

The Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association (BSRA) is inviting high school age boys to join the newly established Team BSRA Boys. Rowing experience is not required and there are no cuts — everyone practices and everyone competes!

Rowing is a four-season sport and BSRA teams compete locally, nationally and in Canada. Rowing is also a non-contact sport that provides a full-body exercise. There are opportunities for athletes of all sizes.

Team BSRA Boys is open to any high school boy who wants to be part of a competitive rowing team and is currently attending a school that does not have a rowing program.

Informational meetings will take place at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 13 and 10 a.m. Jan. 6 at the Old First Ward Community Center, 62 Republic St., Buffalo. Winter crew practice starts at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Old First Ward Community Center. Team coaches are Patrick Kenney and Matthew Yeksigian.

Winter/spring dues are $200 plus a $125 regatta fee. For more information on Team BSRA Boys, please email info@rowbuffalo.com.

Founded in 2010 and located at 405 Ohio St., the Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association provides community access to rowing on the Buffalo River.
