Trend Watch: The Return of the High-Waist Bikini
The bathing suit has taken on many different forms over the years. In the early 1900s it was common to wear a full-length bodysuit to the beach (yikes!) In the 1940's and 1950's, modestly-cut bikinis started to become extremely popular. Showing some skin was suddenly not as taboo as it once was. The 1980's and 1990's is when women started to get truly daring and itsy bitsy teeny weenie bikinis were all the rage.
Now in 2015, women's swimwear is taking a turn back to its roots. We have welcomed back the high-waist bikini with open arms. They are definitely more modest than their stringy sisters, but still serve up some mega pinup girl-inspired sex appeal.
