Editor's Picks: Best Bets in WNY | November 16 - November 20
As the tail end of a fabulous super moon bathes Buffalo in its silvery glow, the week ahead beckons. Fall weather persists, making it easy to get out and have some fun!
Love beer? What about the glassware it's served in? Let renowned German glassmaker Spiegelau walk you through beer glassware design. You’ll get to try three beer styles at a Science of the Beer Glass Seminar on Wednesday at Kegworks. Or head to Riverfest Park. 6 Minute Building Stories, or 6Mbs, at Tewksbury Lodge will thrill you with building stories told in 18 20-second images. Too cool.
Since Thursday has become the new Friday, there is always too much to do. Start at the Shea's Shopping Soiree. Check out local wares by more than three dozen vendors, including our very own Marti Gorman! Check out her beautiful new books about Buffalo (great gifts!) and enjoy great food, great beverages and great drinks. A truly fun way to kick start your holiday shopping. Then head over to Bottles and Pints Festival at the Adams Mark. Enjoy regional wines, local restaurants, music and contests.
On Friday, we recommend the open cocktail bar and dinner at SABAH's Starlight Night Annual Auction & Gala. You'll help provide education and therapeutic recreation, fitness, and social and communication skills for individuals challenged by physical, cognitive, and/or emotional disability. It's all happening at the Convention Center.
On Saturday catch prolific composer, percussionist, author, and educator, Dafnis Prieto at the Art of Jazz at the Albright-Knox. Then experience the BIG reveal of the Buffalo Collective, the area's newest gallery at 391 Abbott Road.
Sunday is play day - the very last day to catch at least ome of five plays. Choose from 4000 Miles, Crimes of the Heart, Finnegan's Farewell, and The 39 Steps (see Review by Ann Marie Cusella here).
