More than over 12,000 new jobs are being created in Buffalo by the $5.5 billion in economic development activity that is currently underway, making Buffalo the “hottest construction market” in the Northeast.

Using data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Business First  named Buffalo the “hottest construction market” in the Northeast. There has been a 28.6% increase in construction jobs in Buffalo, from 21,000 in October 2010 to 27,000 jobs in October 2015, on par with Boston's 28.4% increase, and well ahead of New York City (20.2%), Philadelphia (13.8%) and Baltimore (13.4%).
