100% Buffalo: Five Surprises, One City

100% Buffalo: Five Surprises, One City
The 100% campaign came to Buffalo. The campaign, which ignites human energy, clean energy and what’s possible when the two come together, surprised five everyday heroes for all the ways they are making a difference and transforming our city.

Watch them honor Lorna, Paul, Khadijah, Aweso, and Josh -- their last names seem to be intentionally omitted -- and "celebrate all the ways they give and live their 100%."

100% calls Buffalo "an unlikely trailblazer... that proves the transition to 100% clean renewable energy for 100% of people is already happening," adding that this transition in Buffalo goes beyond solar panels or windmills.

"As far as we’re concerned, the transition looks like Josh planting gardens and using mushrooms to manage stormwater surges, like Aweso as he holds court at the afterschool program trafficked by the local kids, it looks like Khadijah as she advocates for immigrant youth, like Lorna as she creates theater to tell stories of justice and Paul as he weaves racial equity into his business perspective. Each of these phenomenal humans is giving their 100% and making 100% solutions happen, today."

PUSH Buffalo nominated these neighbors and has modeled the ideals embraced by 100% for nearly a decade. Want to know more and support this extraordinary organization? Plan to attend the annual Building Blocks Breakfast fundraiser on November 10th, 2016 at Temple Beth Zion (805 Delaware Ave.) from 8:00AM - 9:00AM (registration begins at 7:30AM). Attendance to the breakfast is free, and offers a chance to learn about PUSH’s holistic approach to transforming the West Side into a strong and resilient community.  As part of the breakfast, a request for your voluntary financial support will be made.

If you would like to see PUSH’s work in person, consider taking a tour of the PUSH Green Development Zone at 8:00am on Thursday, October 20 or Wednesday, October 26. Meet at 460 Massachusetts Avenue and plan to have your eyes opened for about an hour. To reserve a spot on the next tour, e-mail juliawhite@pushbuffalo.org or call 716.882.2672.

100% is a campaign of the Solutions Project, a national nonprofit organization working to accelerate the transition to 100% clean, renewable energy for all people and purposes.
