Dafnis Prieto Sextet - Art of Jazz 2016–2017

A prolific composer, percussionist, author, and educator, Dafnis Prieto quickly made his mark on the American jazz scene when he arrived in New York in the late 1990s. Since then, he has become one of the most sought-after musicians in the international jazz scene. A winner of the 2011 MacArthur Fellowship, Prieto has brought Afro-Cuban drumming to a previously unattained level. His recent book A World of Rhythmic Possibilities present analytical, technical, conceptual, and philosophical aspects of drumming and rhythm.
